Sticks and Stones
The will of a stick is simple.
Head towards the sun. Away from the wind. Reach, bend, weave, knot, twine, waggle, snap your way. Their desires shape the tree they will become, these first weather dances fossilise their future forms. It's hard to find a stick that's straight, or a tree.
We let the playful lines of nature shape our playgrounds.
Collecting the sticks shed from trees on site, letting their wiggled journeys lead our structural intent.
Full of gaps and knots and stories.
Nature is our playground, we play in its enchanting delight, and invite our children to do the same.
